Curbside Cafe

It seemed to take forever, but food trucks are finally hitting the Baltimore Area, and more importantly (to me), are camping out on the University of Maryland Baltimore campus one day a week. I was happy to see that the Kooper's Chowhound Burger Wagon is making weekly stops, and now we have the Curbside Cafe, too.

Curbside Cafe dispenses burritos filled with seasoned basmati rice and your choice of pulled pork, chana masala, spicy chicken, black beans, or tofu and grilled veggies (in season), plus any or all of their condiments (avocado in season, onion, tomatoes, lettuce, corn relish, cheese, sour cream and a choice of three hot sauces).

I enjoyed the pulled pork (here with corn relish, lettuce, tomato, and jalapeno pineapple hot sauce). I also tried one with their "spicy chicken" filling, and I think I preferred it. The filling was nicely spicy - obvious, but not incendiary - and the chunks of chicken worked better with the rice than the too-similarly-textured pulled pork. The flavors of both are great, however. and at $6, a pretty good deal.

I agree - Baltimore could use some good food truck options. This one sounds fabulous!
